Camping

We are hoping to go camping this summer (if it ever warms up and drys out!) so a week and a half ago Nathan set up the tent in our basement. Nathan and Blake had a little campout downstairs. We wanted to make sure that Blake would sleep in a tent and sleeping bag before venturing to the great outdoors. Blake loved it! He was so excited once the tent was up that it took some convincing to get him upstairs for the dutch oven peach cobbler I made and to get jammies on.

He slept really well until he woke up at 4:30am - his diaper had somehow leaked (it wasn't even full!). So he had to spend the rest of the night upstairs while the sleeping bag dried off from me cleaning it. In the morning Blake was still upset about the sleeping bag getting peed on that he went pee in the potty the whole day Saturday and most of the next day (he even stayed dry at nursery in church Sunday!). But by Sunday night he was back to wanting nothing to do with the toilet. I must say that potty training is getting quite old! Last Thanksgiving time was when Blake first started wanting to use underwear and the toilet. He does really good for a few days and then goes back to absolutely refusing to use the toilet. This too will pass, I suppose.

That day I took the kids to parent-tot nature hour. Tami and her kids met us up there so that was fun. Here is what the canyon looked like that day. It was so pretty, but boy that water is moving fast so we kept those boys as far away from it as we could!
