We have a Fence!

Wow! June has flown by...the 2 big things that happened were: Nathan went out of town for work twice (a week each time) and we finished another major home improvement. We got a fence!

Mountain Peak Fencing installed the fence for us and we would totally recommend him to anyone needing a fence in Cache Valley! Cody was so good to work with, communicated well with us, had the lowest price we could get a quote for, and did awesome, quick work!

 I am so excited about the fence! Now I can let the kids out back to play more often without worrying as much that they will wonder off...and we will probably let our chickens roam the yard once the plants in our garden get a little bigger :)

We got the fence with our 2 neighbors to the east of us and we all decided to do 4-foot vinyl-coated brown chain link. We all wanted fencing to keep our kids safe and to enable us to let our chickens out (all 3 of us have chickens) but we didn't want a huge privacy fence because we like the open feel and we like to talk to each other. It turned out sooo good! From the street, you can't even tell there is fencing there. The only thing that is really noticeable at all are the posts, but the rest just blends right in as you can kind of see in the picture below.
 (p.s. try to ignore the yellow spots in our grass...we are still trying to figure out how often to water the sod we got last fall and with Nathan gone a few weeks this month the watering didn't get adjusted as soon as it should have)

We have a gate on the west side of our home, but the east side is currently open. We ordered the materials to put a large gate on that side as well, but we will install it later since we need to pour some cement for a future 3rd car garage/shop. We will probably try to get the concrete done this year if finances allow (and possibly install the gate at that point, but the garage is on the long-term plan :)

I am excited to work on our flower beds/landscaping now! We planted some shrubs and daisies in front of our house a month ago; so slowly, but surely we are getting there :) Some day we will have a gorgeous yard with less weeds!
